A community in pictures: Philadelphia Chinatown

In a recent trip to Philadelphia Chinatown, the Swarthmore Migration Project visited establishments previously profiled by our sister organization, the Chinatown Youth Radio Project. We went to Abakus Takeout, an urban apparel retailer that incorporates kitschy elements associated with Americanized Chinese restaurants. Next, we had lunch at Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House, an unassuming eatery that has a loyal customer base in the neighborhood. Finally, we stopped by the iconic Friendship Gate at the corner of 10th and Arch. ChYRP’s stories on these locations are available here.
